Hi! Long time no speak.. TMI alert, turn away now if you can’t stomach it!
So I have to say this week has been a shitter! literally! Little N came down with a ‘bug’ a week ago, it started all of a sudden and we’ve been on high alert ever since! When they say, things must be much harder x3, we always laugh it off and think it’s not so bad… well this.. this WAS BAD!
Can you imagine it coming from all angles. Doing 4/5 loads of washing a day, striping kids and/or beds constantly, using all the towels we own, apart from the good ones you keep for guests! All the while comforting sick toddler(s) and trying not to get sick ourselves! oh and everything else to keep us going and holding down full time jobs! Can’t imagine it, here i’ll help you out…
D isn’t so good with the bodily fluid clear ups so that fell to me and mom! Without her help and support it would have been a shit show, get it, shit show! (not at all delirious right now!) I can’t even say we got used to it, the smell was toxic! Mom is the only one on the planet who would come and clear up our poop in a heartbeat and we’ll be eternally grateful.
Thursday the second poonami struck and for 24 hours it was 3 vs 2 and it was a close match! I’ve never had to pour poop down the toilet before, just as well Nanni had that one!! Also I’ve never said ‘did you smell the bums’ so many times when checking on the kids after bedtime!
Just when we thought we were out the woods, strike 3 on Sunday! luckily N had come out the other end by now, haha – I’m full of them today! So it was still 3 vs 2 but at times we needed another pair of hands thankfully Uncle B was here.
I have blisters from washing my hands so much. My washing machine was on overdrive it’s a wonder it didn’t take off.
It has been relentless!
We had a rubbish lonnnng weekend but I hope you enjoyed the sunshine!
Hi! Summer I see you poking your head.. Man have we missed you!
Tips:
- Keep on giving fluids, little and often don’t try and flush it just makes them more sick… and don’t worry too much about food as long as they are drinking. Always consult a doctor if unsure, you might think it’s a bug but kids deteriorate so quick!
- Bathe everything in Dettol! JOKE! Don’t do this especially not the kids but be vigilant in keeping things sanitised (I did wash my hands in Dettol spray though, not recommended!)
- If in doubt throw it out! Don’t bother with dressing sick kids it’s pointless, cheap vests or nighties will do!
- Try the B.R.A.T diet, Bananas, Rice, Applesauce and Toast. but ultimately give them what they want. Milk is also fine, these things need to run their course so keep the kids happy and in turn you will be too – for us it was fish fingers and weetabix!
- Have alcohol on hand, turn to this as and when needed to get yourself through! Also gas masks if it turns out to be as toxic as our house!
Happy pooping all!
p.s We turn three soon and we’re having a party, a big one! See ya real soon!
